KELOWNA, B.C. – The City of Kelowna announced on October 8, 2026 that new pickleball courts are now open at Glenmore Recreation Park, part of the ongoing expansion of the park.
The courts are part of a larger park expansion that also has an activity centre and other recreation amenities in the works. The expansion adds capacity for one of the fastest-growing recreational sports in the region.
Pickleball is a paddle sport played on a badminton-sized court with a perforated plastic ball, combining elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Its low-impact format has made it popular with players of all ages.
The city has not published the number of courts or the booking system for the new facilities. Players should check the City of Kelowna’s recreation listings for court availability and any reservation requirements.
Glenmore Recreation Park serves the growing Glenmore neighbourhood. The activity centre and additional amenities remain under development as part of the same expansion project.
Pickleball demand has surged across the Okanagan in recent years, with municipalities adding dedicated courts to keep up. Kelowna’s expansion at Glenmore reflects that trend, giving local players more options close to home.
What happens next: the courts are open now, with more park amenities to follow. Apna News will update this story when the city confirms booking details and the timeline for the remaining expansion.
