NORTH DELTA, B.C. - A re-elected BC NDP government will add a new Urgent and Primary Care Centre in North Delta, the party announced October 12. The UPCC would make it easier for people to get care for minor illnesses and injuries closer to home, reducing pressure on hospital emergency departments, according to the BC NDP release. The announcement is part of the NDP’s broader health care platform ahead of the October 24 provincial election. The party says Conservative promises of cuts would put primary care at risk. North Delta borders Surrey, and many Surrey families use health services in Delta. The new centre would serve the growing population in both communities. The BC NDP also announced a new UPCC in Coquitlam on the same day. Source: BC NDP Media Centre (https://www.bcndp.ca/releases)
