PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Prince George RCMP say one youth has been arrested in connection with multiple break-and-enter investigations at the same pub, following three incidents reported over nine days in October. The youth was later released to a guardian with a future court date.
Federal youth justice law protects the identity of a young person in the criminal justice system. This article therefore does not publish a name, age, image or other identifying description.
Three incidents at the same location
The investigations began on October 6, 2026, when a pub on the 200-block of Cherry Avenue reported that its alarm had been triggered at 2:30 a.m. Investigators found that a door to the business had been broken open and that suspects had entered the building.
A second break-in attempt occurred at the same location two nights later, on October 8.
At about 1:00 a.m. on October 15, officers patrolling the neighbourhood saw exterior lights activate at the pub. When police arrived, three youth were located behind the business. Two fled the area, while one remained behind.
CCTV review led to the arrest
After reviewing CCTV footage from the earlier investigations, officers determined that the youth who remained was likely involved in the incidents at the location. The youth was arrested and taken to the Prince George RCMP detachment.
The RCMP release does not specify charges. It says the youth was later released to a guardian, with a future court date. The allegations described by police have not been proven in court.
“This arrest is the result of an extraordinary amount of work by our officers throughout the course of this investigation,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, a BC RCMP spokesperson for Northern B.C. “Cases like this highlight the dedication, perseverance, and diligence our police officers bring to their work each day to help keep the Prince George community safe.”
Police still seek information
Investigators are asking anyone who knows the identity of the other youth seen fleeing the area on October 15, or who has information about the investigations, to contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line or make an anonymous report to Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers.
The release lists files 2026-35018 and 2026-35279. Police have not released identifying information about the arrested youth, and Apna News is not seeking to publish any.
