SURREY, B.C. - Polls are open across British Columbia today, Saturday, October 24, 2026, for the final day of voting in the 2026 provincial election. Voting places are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific time. Across Surrey’s 10 provincial ridings, voters are choosing their members of the Legislative Assembly, where a party needs 47 of the province’s 93 seats to form a majority government.
Advance voting, held October 16 to 21, drew 891,348 ballots provincewide. Saturday is the last chance to vote in this election.
Where to vote in Surrey
On final voting day, voters have an assigned voting place, listed on the Where to Vote card Elections BC mailed to registered voters. Elections BC says you can vote at another voting place if it is more convenient. To find your voting place, check your Where to Vote card, use the Where to Vote app at wheretovote.elections.bc.ca, or call Elections BC toll-free at 1-800-661-8683 (TTY 1-888-456-5448).
What to bring
Bring acceptable voter ID. Your Where to Vote card can be used as one of two pieces of voter ID, but Elections BC confirms you do not need the card itself to be able to vote. Elections BC’s website lists the full ID options for voters who are unsure what to bring.
In line at 8 p.m.? Stay in line
If you are in line at your voting place when polls close at 8 p.m., stay in line: you will still be able to cast your ballot.
What happens tonight
Counting begins after polls close at 8 p.m., and the results reported tonight are preliminary. Elections BC’s final count runs November 6 to 10, after which results become official. Apna News will publish Surrey riding results tonight as Elections BC reports them.
