Abbotsford: Man charged in two residential break and enters

Abbotsford police have charged a 48-year-old man in connection with two residential break and enters at rural properties last month.

On September 3, officers responded to a home in the 1700 block of Bradner Road after reports of a suspect forcing entry into an occupied home and stealing valuables. On September 14, a second break and enter was reported at a home in the 27900 block of Montesina Avenue, about two kilometres away, with valuables again stolen.

The Crime Reduction Unit took over both investigations due to similarities between the incidents. On September 15, CRU members assisted by the Gang Crime Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a home in the 27200 block of Fraser Highway, arresting one suspect without incident and recovering stolen property.

The accused faces two counts of break and enter and one count of disguise with intent.
