SURREY, B.C. – Apna News is launching Apna Best of Surrey 2026, an annual ranking of the city’s best businesses across three industries in its first edition: restaurants and cafes, home services, and health and wellness.
The ranking uses a three-tier model. The editorial top 10 in each industry is earned and never sold. Clearly labeled sponsored slots sit visually separate from the editorial list. An annual awards edition, driven by reader voting, closes out each year.
Here is how the editorial list works. Our team shortlists Surrey businesses per industry using Google Business Profile reviews, weighted by rating, review volume and recency. Readers then vote to decide the final order.
A methodology page will publish alongside every ranking, showing exactly how businesses were scored. Named rankings become institutions that businesses want to join, and transparency is what makes them trustworthy.
Nominations are open to the public, and a public voting window will follow the shortlist announcement. Businesses cannot pay their way onto the editorial list. Paid placements are always clearly labeled as sponsored.
The first edition covers restaurants and cafes, home services, and health and wellness. Future editions will expand to more industries based on reader interest.
What happens next: nominations open now, followed by the shortlist and public voting. Apna News will publish the full methodology page and announce voting dates in the coming weeks.
Apna News is building the Best of Surrey rankings with our readers. Nominate a Surrey business you love and watch for the voting window.
