CASTLEGAR, B.C. – Castlegar RCMP are asking for public assistance after a break and enter at a Columbia Avenue business where thieves stole tires and rims valued at more than $10,000.
Police received the report on October 7, 2026, of a break-in that occurred just after midnight in the 1500-block of Columbia Avenue. Surveillance footage captured multiple suspects arriving in two vehicles before breaking in and stealing several sets of tires and rims.
Among the stolen items were satin black 18-inch Toyota alloy rims, Michelin X-Ice Snow tires (235/60R18), and Toyo Observe GSi6 LS tires (235/60R18).
Investigators are seeking help identifying two vehicles. The first is described as an older-model recreational vehicle (RV), light in colour with blue pinstriping, carrying bicycles on the rear and what appears to be a red bag on the roof. The second is a smaller light-coloured SUV.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen these vehicles in the area during the early morning hours of October 7, or who may have dash camera footage, to contact police,” said Cpl. Brett Urano, Media Relations Officer for the Castlegar RCMP. “Even information that may seem minor could be valuable to investigators.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Castlegar RCMP at 250-365-7721 and quote file 2026-2966.
