The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old Langley man and is seeking witnesses.
On October 5 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to reports of a shooting in the 6000-block of 200 Street. Officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a business complex. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, he died at the scene.
About 20 minutes later, police received a report of a vehicle fire near 232 Street and 75 Avenue. A burnt sedan was recovered and is believed to have been used in the shooting.
IHIT has taken conduct of the investigation and is working with Langley RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the BC Coroners Service. Police say preliminary information indicates the shooting was targeted.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of either scene between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on October 5 to come forward with information or dashcam video. Anyone with information can contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448.
