One Delta mayoral candidate Dylan Kruger says he supports proposed reforms to the Metro Vancouver Regional District, calling them a step toward fiscal discipline, transparency and public trust.
Kruger said the reform initiatives proposed by the Conservative Party of BC align with long-standing community concerns around mega-project cost overruns and political spending.
He pointed to regional project budgets growing from hundreds of millions into the billions, and said residents want a regional government focused on core responsibilities such as clean water, wastewater treatment and infrastructure.
Kruger stressed that any implementation must protect municipalities from disruption and be done in partnership with member municipalities.
