SURREY, B.C. - Three party leaders face off in the only live televised debate of the BC election on Wednesday, October 14, from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m. PT, the BC Broadcast Consortium says.
The debate will feature BC NDP leader David Eby, BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson and BC Green Party leader Emily Lowan, and will be moderated by Shachi Kurl, president of the Angus Reid Institute. The consortium says all parties agreed on the debate participation criteria, and these three leaders met them.
A leaders’ debate puts the party leaders on one stage answering the same questions in turn, so voters can compare them directly.
It will air on CBC BC, C-PAC, City TV, CTV Vancouver, Global BC and CHEK, the consortium says.
The debate comes just ten days before British Columbians vote in the provincial election on Saturday, October 24, making it the last scheduled head-to-head between the leaders before election day.
How Surrey can watch
Surrey viewers can catch the debate live on any of the six carrying broadcasters: CBC BC, C-PAC, City TV, CTV Vancouver, Global BC or CHEK. Check your TV listings or each broadcaster’s streaming app for the live feed on Wednesday evening.
Apna News will cover the debate and its Surrey angles after it airs. British Columbians vote October 24.
