The highest-rated butter chicken in Surrey right now: how Apna News will rank it, and how you can vote

SURREY, B.C. – Apna News is launching “Apna Best of Surrey,” and the first food ranking will name the highest-rated butter chicken in the city, decided entirely by a published method and reader votes. Here is exactly how the ranking will work, with nominations open now.

The method: Apna News will search Google Reviews for butter chicken-serving restaurants in Surrey, include only those rated 4.4 stars or higher with at least 300 reviews, and rank them by a weighted rating score. A weighted rating score blends a restaurant’s star rating with its review count, so a 4.9 from 40 reviews does not outrank a 4.6 from 2,000.

All figures will come from live Google Business listings at the time of writing. The editorial top 10 will be free and earned; no restaurant can pay for a spot.

An explicit caveat: this article describes the methodology only. No restaurant names are asserted here and no ranking has been published yet. The ranked list will appear as a separate article once the research is complete.

What happens next: nominations are open now, and reader voting will follow the editorial list. Apna News will publish the ranked top 10 as the first “Apna Best of Surrey” food ranking.

This ranking is earned, never sold. Nominate your favourite butter chicken spot and Apna News will verify it against the published method.
