SOOKE, B.C. - Sooke RCMP are asking for the public’s help locating Daniel Morrison-Miniano, 30, who has been missing since mid-September.
Morrison-Miniano is described as an Indigenous male, approximately 5’9″ tall with a slender build, with short to medium black hair. Police released his photograph alongside the appeal, and investigators are asking anyone who has seen him, or who may know where he is, to contact them.
Last seen near West Coast Road
Morrison-Miniano was last seen on September 14, 2026, near the 6700 block of West Coast Road in Sooke, on the southwest coast of Vancouver Island. More than five weeks have passed since that last sighting, and police have not said where he may have been headed. Anyone who was in the West Coast Road area around September 14 and recalls seeing a man matching his description is asked to come forward, even if the detail seems small.
Why sharing this appeal matters
Missing person cases are often solved by a single tip from someone who did not realize what they had seen until an appeal reached them. Sharing an appeal promptly puts a name and a face in front of people while memories of mid-September are still reachable, and it widens the circle well beyond the community where the person was last seen. A sighting reported weeks later can still confirm that a missing person is safe, or point investigators toward where to look next.
How to contact police
Anyone with information on Morrison-Miniano’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Sooke RCMP non-emergency line at 250-642-5241 and quote file 2026-5723.
