Cricket continues to grow as an important part of the sporting community across Surrey and the Lower Mainland. Apna News recently captured the action and atmosphere surrounding Champions Cricket Arena.

From moments on the field to conversations away from the action, our coverage focused on more than scores. It focused on the people who make the sport possible.

Cricket, competition and community

Events such as Champions Cricket Arena give players an opportunity to compete while bringing spectators, families and supporters together around the sport.

The preparation, concentration, conversations between players and excitement around the match are moments that can disappear once the final ball has been bowled.

Cricket’s place in Surrey

For younger athletes, local cricket offers an opportunity to develop their abilities and learn from experienced players. For families, it creates a gathering place. Community sport connects people from different ages and backgrounds through one shared interest.
