PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - A pedestrian is dead after an early-morning collision at a downtown Prince George intersection, and the RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed it or caught it on a dash camera to come forward.
Prince George RCMP say the collision happened around 4:30 a.m. on November 2, 2026, at the intersection of 1 Avenue and Victoria Street. A grey 2020 Honda CRV travelling westbound along 1 Avenue struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian died. Police have not released the person’s name or age.
The driver remained at the scene and has been cooperating with police. The detachment says neither criminality nor impairment is currently suspected as a factor in the collision.
The intersection was closed for a significant period while the RCMP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (CARS), the unit that documents and reconstructs serious collision scenes, assisted in collecting information.
“Investigators are asking that anyone who was passing through the area at the time and either witnessed the incident or has dash camera footage of the incident or the driving behaviour of the vehicle involved, to please contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line to speak with police,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, the BC RCMP spokesperson for Northern B.C.
Anyone who was near 1 Avenue and Victoria Street around 4:30 a.m. on November 2, including drivers whose dash cameras may have recorded the CRV’s driving before the collision, is asked to call the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 and quote file 2026-38319.
The RCMP offered condolences to the family and friends of the person who died. A collision at 4:30 a.m. happens in full darkness at this time of year, which is one reason investigators are asking for video rather than relying only on what witnesses saw.
