RICHMOND, B.C. - Vancouver International Airport has added two tools to help passengers find their way: an interactive digital map and live shuttle wait times.
The interactive map, launched in spring 2026, gives turn-by-turn directions to nearly 1,500 points of interest across the airport, from gates and check-in counters to shops, restaurants, lounges and even water bottle fill stations. Passengers can search by general terms such as “coffee,” “burger,” “vegetarian” or “headphones” rather than a specific place name. Results show open hours and contact information, and some restaurants offer advance ordering links. The map also includes an option to select a wheelchair accessible route.
The map is available at map.yvr.ca on a personal device, or inside the apps of participating airlines: Air Canada, WestJet and United Airlines.
For shuttles, YVR’s innovation team used bus GPS locations, speed and past travel patterns to estimate arrival times, now shown on displays at shuttle departure points. The displays cover services such as the South Terminal shuttle and the continuously running jetSet shuttle. Outside Canada Line operating hours, shuttle wait times are also displayed for Value Long Term Parking and Templeton Station.
Static in-terminal signage and in-person guest experience staff and volunteers remain available. The digital tools supplement them around the clock.
A note for winter travel: on November 1, 2026, British Columbia moved to year-round daylight saving time instead of falling back. YVR anticipates no passenger impacts from the change. Airlines adjusted winter schedules, and the majority of flights to and from destinations outside British Columbia shifted by approximately one hour compared with last winter. Adjusted times are already reflected in passengers’ travel information, and no action is required.
