AbbyPD announces Public Safety Collaboration Hub at Highstreet, opening January 2027

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – The Abbotsford Police Department announced on October 6, 2026 the Abbotsford Public Safety Collaboration Hub, a shared storefront at Highstreet Shopping Centre opening in January 2027.

The hub brings together AbbyPD, the Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association and the Abbotsford Police Foundation under one roof. It will offer community safety programming, restorative justice services and public education initiatives.

A collaboration hub of this kind places police and community organizations in a shared public space, making services easier to access for residents who might not visit a police station. The Highstreet location puts it in a high-traffic retail area.

Funding comes from the partner organizations, Police Foundation donors, the Province’s Community Safety and Targeted Enforcement Program (CSTEP) and Highstreet Shopping Centre itself. The province’s CSTEP program supports community safety initiatives across B.C.

The hub opens in January 2027, giving the partners roughly three months to prepare the storefront. AbbyPD has not yet published the hub’s operating hours.

Locating police community services in a shopping centre is an unusual move aimed at visibility and accessibility. The restorative justice component offers an alternative path for resolving certain conflicts outside the court system.

What happens next: the hub opens in January 2027. Apna News will update this story when AbbyPD publishes operating hours and the full program lineup.
