SURREY, B.C. – A B.C. Supreme Court jury has found Adam Troy Mann, 42, guilty of second-degree murder in the 2024 death of Tori Dunn, 30, in Surrey.

The jury returned the verdict on October 21, 2026, at the end of a trial in New Westminster that began on October 5 before Justice Layton, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said in a release on Thursday.

On June 16, 2024, at about 10 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a call at a residence near the 9800-block of 182A Street, where officers found Dunn suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, she died of her injuries. A man was taken into police custody at the scene.

IHIT assumed conduct of the investigation, working with Surrey RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the BC Coroners Service. On June 28, 2024, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of second-degree murder against Mann, and he has remained in custody since his arrest.

Second-degree murder carries an automatic life sentence, with the period of parole ineligibility, between 10 and 25 years, to be set by the trial judge. The case returns to court on October 29, 2026, to schedule a date for the sentencing hearing.

“This guilty verdict reflects the collaborative efforts between IHIT and our policing partners, and the work of Crown Counsel at the BC Prosecution Service,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. Fong said IHIT investigators and victim services continue to support Dunn’s family and others affected by the crime while sentencing is awaited.
