Description of Melissa Harper

Melissa Harper is described as:

  • 18 years old
  • 5 feet 4 inches tall
  • 110 pounds
  • Brown hair
  • Brown eyes

Major Crime Unit has taken over

“The circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious,” said Corporal Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the BC RCMP. For that reason, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) has taken over the investigation. The VIIMCU is the integrated team that investigates homicides and other major crimes on Vancouver Island.

Police and family are concerned for her health and well-being. Police said Harper has ties to both the Lower Mainland and Alberta, so she may be known to people well beyond Vancouver Island, including in Surrey and across the Lower Mainland.

How to help

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Melissa Harper is urged to contact their local police, or the VIIMCU information line at 250-380-6211, and quote file OC 2026-11381 or VIIMCU 2026-19126.
