SURREY, B.C. – Only two advance voting days remain before Surrey’s municipal election, with polls open Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 10 designated locations across the city.
General voting day is Saturday, October 17, with polls open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 52 locations citywide. Voters may cast a ballot at any voting location, not just the one nearest their home.
Surrey voters will elect one mayor, eight councillors and six school trustees. The mayoral race features seven candidates, with Leger’s October 9 poll putting Surrey Connect’s Brenda Locke at 24 per cent and Safe Surrey Coalition’s Doug McCallum at 12 per cent.
Voters need to bring acceptable ID. The City of Surrey’s election page lists all voting locations and ID requirements.
Apna News will update this story with turnout figures when the City releases them.
