ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - Abbotsford police are renewing their appeal for the public’s help in finding a 19-year-old man who has been missing for nearly two weeks, a disappearance officers describe as out of character.
Mattias Kolodziej-Serwa was last seen at about 4:15 p.m. on Monday, October 12, in the 34000 block of Kent Avenue, the Abbotsford Police Department said in an updated appeal issued Friday, October 23. The block is in east Abbotsford, near Old Clayburn Road and Sumas Way. Since his disappearance, officers have conducted extensive searches and canvassed the area in an effort to locate him and gather information about his whereabouts.
Police first appealed for the public’s help when Mattias went missing on October 12. Eleven days later, with no confirmed sighting since that afternoon, investigators are asking anyone who was in the Kent Avenue area on October 12, or who has seen him since, to check their memory and come forward.
Police describe Mattias as six feet tall, with a slim build, blue eyes and a buzz cut hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a light coloured long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, a black backpack and black shoes with white soles. He was also carrying a clear plastic water bottle.
His family remains deeply concerned for his well-being and is urging anyone who may have seen him, or who has information that could assist investigators, to come forward. The family has also released a video appeal for information, which police linked in their release at https://youtu.be/Csv2Iv7AGIE
Police say any piece of information, no matter how small it may seem, could be crucial in helping bring Mattias home safely.
Anyone who has seen Mattias Kolodziej-Serwa, or who has information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 and reference file 2026-43787.
