BURNABY, B.C. - Three Millennium Line stations are closed on Wednesday morning, November 4, 2026, after a fire near Gilmore Station, and TransLink has put bus bridges in place for the morning commute.
TransLink says Gilmore, Rupert and Brentwood Town Centre stations are temporarily closed. Service at Gilmore was first suspended at 5:50 a.m. due to heavy smoke at the station.
Eastbound customers must transfer to bus service at Renfrew Station. Westbound customers must transfer to bus service at Holdom Station. Extra bus service and staff are in place at Holdom, Brentwood, Gilmore, Rupert and Renfrew stations.
The Expo Line and Canada Line are unaffected and are providing regular service.
TransLink is conducting a thorough investigation of infrastructure. The stations will reopen once the investigation is complete and the infrastructure has been cleared for operation. Questions regarding the fire should be directed to the Burnaby Fire Department.
For Surrey commuters connecting to the Millennium Line through the Expo Line, the bus-bridge segment in Burnaby means extra travel time on Wednesday morning. Customers can sign up for Transit Alerts, follow TransLink on X (@TransLink) for updates, or call Customer Information at 604.953.3333. Phone service is available in over 300 languages.
