LANGFORD, B.C. - West Shore RCMP have seized a shotgun, cocaine, GHB and more than $1,000 in cash after executing a drug search warrant at a home in Langford, arresting two people who were later released with no charges laid yet.

In a release issued Wednesday, November 4, 2026, West Shore RCMP said its Crime Reduction and Drug Unit executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act on October 22, 2026, at a residence in the area of Langford Parkway and Jacklin Road in Langford. The warrant followed an investigation into reports of suspicious activity and suspected drug trafficking at the location, police said.

During the search, officers seized:

  • Over $1,000 in cash
  • A 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition
  • Approximately 5 grams of suspected psilocybin
  • Approximately 10 grams of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately 2 litres of suspected GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate)
  • A small quantity of suspected methamphetamine
  • Drug trafficking paraphernalia

A 44-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested in connection with drug trafficking and were later released, the release said. No charges have been laid at this time, and the investigation continues. Police did not release the names of the two people arrested.

What is GHB?

GHB, short for gamma hydroxybutyrate, is a powerful central nervous system depressant. It is sometimes used recreationally in liquid form, but it is also known as a drug that can be slipped into drinks because it is difficult to detect, and small measurement errors can turn a dose dangerous or fatal, health authorities warn. Finding roughly two litres of it in a suspected trafficking operation is the detail that stands out in this seizure: that is far more than a personal-use amount.

Police asking residents to keep reporting

West Shore RCMP said it continues to target drug dealing within the community and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity to police. The West Shore detachment polices Langford and the surrounding West Shore communities, one of the fastest-growing areas in British Columbia, where new subdivisions have steadily expanded the detachment’s call load.

For Surrey readers, the seizure is a familiar pattern from the other side of the Strait of Georgia: mid-level drug operations that pair a firearm with cocaine, methamphetamine and GHB are exactly the kind of file Lower Mainland drug units say fuels street-level violence and property crime. In this case, police say the gun is now off the street and the file remains under investigation, with charges still possible as it continues.

Anyone with information about suspicious activity in the West Shore can contact their local police or West Shore RCMP through its non-emergency line at 250-474-2264. The RCMP file number is 2026-19335.
