SURREY, B.C. - Surrey Police Service is asking former tenants of a Surrey landlord to come forward after the 48-year-old man was charged with break and enter.
Balwinder Singh Bhandher was charged with one count of break and enter under the Criminal Code after the BC Prosecution Service approved the charge on October 1. He was arrested on a warrant October 14 and released on conditions.
The investigation began in January 2026 when SPS’s Special Investigation Section received allegations that a landlord had entered a tenant’s suite without permission and inappropriately touched the tenant’s clothing. The suite was in the 13800-block of 66 Avenue in Surrey’s Newton area.
Police say the investigation remains active and additional Criminal Code charges are possible. Investigators want to hear from anyone who was a tenant of Bhandher, either at the 66 Avenue address or at a previous residence where he was the landlord.
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file 26-5005 (SP).
The charges have not been proven in court. This story is based on a Surrey Police Service media release (file 2026-5005 SP). Apna News has not independently verified the details.
